As you know, decorations and parties are on my mind. This week, I am helping a client friend decorate her home for her annual Christmas party. Before the (big) loss, she had plans to do an over-the-top Alabama tailgate party with Christmas decorations in the mix. Now that Alabama did not come out with a bang, we are going a little bit more low key on the Alabama decorations, but still serving the tailgate food and representing the team in a fashionable, nice way. Below are some inspiration pictures I found on Pinterest here.
I've always been a girl for gingham, but instead of black and white gingham, I think black and white houndstooth for Alabama will be an understated, yet elegant addition.
I think a beautiful wreath with fresh greenery and a simple velvet ribbon in black or crimson will be a perfect way to welcome guests.
The table could also have accents of boxwood (or matching) wreaths with the same color ribbon.
Every good tailgate needs lots of napkins. Finishing the rolled napkins with twine, a stick of cinnamon, and some fresh greenery adds a decorative touch to any tailgate!
Sticking the cork screw with a pine needle adds a twist to a typical bottle of wine.
The large living room windows at this apartment allow for beautiful views of the Hudson River. Hanging greenery in the windows with fresh pine cones (and a black or crimson ribbon) adds the perfect southern charm without being SEC-Alabama-over-the-top.
What do you think on the party planning? Good start, yes?
