Christmas and the holidays are a funny time of year. Some people love it and others not so much. I, for one, love the holidays for the decorations, time with friends and families, food, advent season, and many other reasons. At the same time, I also see how the holidays are hard and experience those emotions too. For me, the holidays can prove to be difficult because it is split between my mom and my dad and all of those in between. While I should look at it as a special day to travel all over GA to see everyone I love, it is hard to travel all over GA in one day- especially Christmas. It is also a difficult time of year because of lost loved ones. In the past years, we have now lost two people in December dear to my family's heart- one unexpected over the weekend. During Christmas, especially, we remember the people who we have lost. While the holidays can be filled with decorations and lots of chaos and "stuff", instead it is an important reminder for myself to take time and slow down to remember those who are hurting and also enjoy the time that I have with loved ones. This year, I am going to work on enjoying all that I have been given and the people that I am fortunate enough to share it with.
Happy holidays, everyone! May your December be filled with many blessings.
