Every year on my birthday, I take time to reflect on where I am, where I am going, and how far I've come. It's sort of like the new year for me, but in April instead of January. I am a list maker so I jot down a few goals (personally and professionally) and read my goals from the past year. I almost never remember what I wrote down the year before, but am always amazed that almost all of my goals are always accomplished. For me, it's a way to stay on track and keep moving forward, which I think is one of my tools for owning a small business and being happy and successful in life.
Just five (almost six) short years ago I moved to New York City with a suitcase. In March, I celebrated being in business for three years. I am overflowing with gratitude as I enter into my birthday weekend (and forth year of business) for many reasons. One, I am young, like in my twenties young. Two, I have come a long way: geographically, personally, and professionally. Three, I live in the most gorgeous (Manhattan) apartment, which I hope all of you will get to see photographed one day. Four, I own my own successful business. These are just a few big things that make me grateful, but I have so many more (my health, my husband, my family, my friends, my clients, my new pup...)
I am so fortunate to be where I am today! As I enter into my birthday weekend I want to say "thank you" to each person that has been a shining light in my life to help me get to where I am today and where I am going tomorrow. I am eternally grateful.
Happy Birthday to me!
